The energy work offered at ITKA is primarily based on guiding the vital breath through the body through the concept of structural, energetic, and universal connection. Released movements originate in the mind, allowing the body to flow through simple, continuous, and harmonious movements.
ITKA offers specialized courses both in Qi Gong as such and in Nei Gong, that is, its martial application. Expansion and contraction, balanced oscillations, and spiraling movements are the focal points of the type of work that characterizes our method. Natural and deep breathing is connected to circular movements which, unfolding without effort, create continuous movement patterns that express themselves from the inside out, allowing Qi to accumulate and condense as well as flow harmoniously.
The main purpose of Qi Gong exercises is to regulate the functions of the body through the practitioner’s own efforts, and to control the body’s motor functions in order to achieve muscle relaxation, stability of the spirit, and peace of mind. Qi Gong must be based on these three elements. Therefore, conscious activities must first be brought under control, followed by a calm emotional response, in order to reach an extremely pleasant and peaceful state. It is a form of therapy that fully engages the individual’s own energies, strengthens the body’s ability to resist illness, helps prevent or overcome disease, and restore health. Furthermore, those who have carried out intensive work on their own energy over time may be able to channel it, “transmit” it, and connect it with that of other people for healing purposes.
It may seem like a practice for a select few, but in reality, we have often experienced it throughout our lives: a caress in a moment of distress, a hand placed on a painful part of the body, etc. are simple examples of how energetic attunement can alleviate pain and, when practiced by experienced practitioners, can also help resolve health problems gently and without unwanted side effects.
